When you really love a soul and feel the joy sublime
You never really feel the heavy weight of time
You only feel the rush of days that hurry past your heart
The spending of the moment like a spinning whirring dart
Whether parent, friend or child, you always know the truth
That loving costs us dearly, whether old or in our youth
If it doesn’t cost or hurt somewhat you may be in the wrong
Being served rather than serving, never weak and always strong…
But real love always gives and never takes “what is mine”;
And the return comes with a peace that is the weightlessness of time.
Thanksgiving for what was never mine, but God chose to share with me in my journey…beautiful souls.
