What I love about Jeanne….Oh where to begin?Jeanne is the baby of 10 kids. Her mother, a devoted Irish Catholic, trusted her family to the Lord and was a faithful servant in bringing about some of the most amazing souls! Jeanne, being the youngest, was 20 years apart from the oldest in the family. Her mother, Anna, was in great apprehension of this child. “I cannot do it again!” She cried. “Lord, you know I can’t do it. I cannot have this child.” As if in a dream the Holy Mother appeared to her and spoke “You will have this child. She will be the one holding your hand when you part from the earth. She will take care of you in your old age. You will be given the grace. Dress her in blue the first six years of her life in devotion to me, and I will watch over her.” Was it a dream? A vision? It didn’t matter. It gave Anna the grace and strength she needed to carry on with her pregnancy.
Jeanne was born on the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and even to this day, has a special devotion to Our Lady. She was dressed in blue the first six years of her life, to fill the request of one servant mother to another. Jeanne visited her aging mother regularly and brought her home to be with her busy family for every special occasion. When Anna departed from this earth, Jeanne was there, holding her hand and whispering in her ear that she could go and be with her Lord.
